NYCWISE

Privacy Policy

Effective date: to be set on the public release date.

NYCwise is designed to collect as little personal information as the product reasonably needs. The V1 app has no NYCwise account system. We do not ask you to create a profile with your name, email address or password in order to use the core product.

That does not mean no data is processed. App stores, RevenueCat and Cloudflare process limited information as part of purchase delivery and website hosting.

The NYCwise website

nycwise.app is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit the site, Cloudflare may process ordinary network and security information needed to deliver the pages, such as IP address, request metadata and technical logs. NYCwise does not add a marketing analytics SDK, advertising tracker or account login to the V1 website.

The three web demos run in the browser and do not require you to submit a name, email, address, budget or other personal profile.

The NYCwise app

The V1 app stores lesson progress, saved items, checklists and the durable local premium state on the device. Core lesson content is bundled for offline use.

NYCwise does not operate a user-account database in V1.

Purchases

Purchases are handled through the platform store:

  • Apple App Store / StoreKit on iPhone;
  • Google Play / Play Billing on Android.

NYCwise uses RevenueCat to support purchase, restore and entitlement verification. RevenueCat processes purchase history and technical identifiers needed to perform that function. NYCwise uses anonymous/app-generated identifiers rather than asking you to create an identity-based NYCwise account.

The exact App Store privacy and Google Play Data Safety declarations must match the final shipped SDK configuration. They must not state "Data Not Collected" while RevenueCat is in the product.

What NYCwise does not add in V1

NYCwise does not add:

  • an advertising SDK;
  • an analytics SDK;
  • Sentry or another third-party crash-reporting SDK;
  • push-notification tracking;
  • a location-tracking SDK;
  • a contact-list upload;
  • a social profile or public user feed.

Apple and Google may provide their own store and platform diagnostics under their respective policies.

Neighborhood and rental tools

Neighborhood Fit and Rental Check are designed to work without a NYCwise server receiving a live personal profile.

Where the app uses a dated rental-market snapshot, that dataset is prepared for the release and bundled with the product. The app does not send your rent budget to a rental-data API at runtime.

Links to other services

NYCwise links to official external sources such as MTA, NYC HPD, DCWP, NYC311 and other public information sites. When you leave NYCwise and visit another site, that site's privacy policy applies.

Data retention and deletion

Because V1 has no NYCwise user account, there is no central NYCwise profile to delete. Local app data can be removed by clearing app data or uninstalling the app, subject to the operating system's behavior.

Purchase records are also maintained by Apple, Google and RevenueCat under their own retention and legal requirements. Store purchase history is not erased merely by uninstalling NYCwise.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you rights concerning personal data processed in connection with the service. Requests relating to data controlled directly by Apple, Google, RevenueCat or Cloudflare may need to be directed to the relevant provider.

For NYCwise privacy questions or requests, use the verified contact listed on the Support page.

Their current privacy terms apply to their processing.

Changes

If NYCwise adds a service that changes what data is processed, this policy and the relevant store disclosures will be updated before that feature is released.
