NYCWISE

Terms of Use

Effective date: to be set on the public release date.

These terms govern use of the NYCwise website, free demos and, once available, the NYCwise mobile app.

Educational product

NYCwise provides educational and practical guidance about living in New York. It does not provide legal, financial, medical, engineering, housing-inspection or personal-safety advice.

City rules, fares, market conditions, service patterns and third-party policies can change. When a current fact matters to a real decision, verify it with the relevant official source and the specific provider or property involved.

Website and free demos

The public website and three demos may be used without payment. The demos use illustrative examples and do not guarantee that the same result applies to your circumstances.

The Rental Check demo uses a fictional property. Its condition clues and decision labels must not be treated as a diagnosis of a real building.

Mobile app purchase

When the mobile app is available, full access is sold as a one-time non-consumable in-app purchase with a base US price of $9.99. There is no NYCwise subscription in V1.

The store shows the final local price and currency before purchase. Apple App Store or Google Play processes the transaction under its own terms.

Restore Purchases

The app provides a Restore Purchases function. A previously verified lifetime purchase is designed to remain available offline on that installation. Store or entitlement verification may require a network connection when purchase ownership has not yet been established on the device.

Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refund requests and eligibility are handled under the applicable store's current policies and legal requirements. NYCwise does not promise a separate refund process that overrides the platform store.

License

A purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use the NYCwise app and its included content under these terms and the applicable store rules. It does not transfer ownership of the text, graphics, audio, software, brand or other intellectual property.

Do not redistribute, sell, scrape into a competing product, or republish substantial portions of the paid content without permission.

Availability and changes

NYCwise aims to keep the core app usable offline. Operating-system requirements, store policies and device compatibility still change over time, and future updates may be needed to keep the app available on supported platforms.

We may correct errors, improve accessibility, update outdated guidance and replace dated product snapshots. We will not turn the V1 one-time purchase into a subscription for an already purchased entitlement without a separate explicit product decision and any rights required by the platform and law.

External links

NYCwise links to MTA, NYC agencies and other third-party sites for current information. Those services control their own content and availability. A link does not mean NYCwise controls or guarantees the external information.

Responsible use

Do not use the site or app to violate law, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, or copy protected content at scale.

Disclaimers and limitation

NYCwise is provided as an educational decision-support product. No tool can guarantee that a neighborhood, apartment, route, date, social interaction or other real-world outcome will be safe, suitable or successful.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, NYCwise is not responsible for losses caused by relying on outdated third-party information, failing to verify a specific real-world condition, or treating an illustrative example as a guarantee. Nothing in these terms removes consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
